Is the music legal?

Yes! Every song we sell is fully licensed. Our entire catalog is covered by a Mechanical License, and every song you buy also comes with a Master Use License. Each purchase covers song use by a single gymnast for 2 years. *USA Only*

What length do I need?

If unsure ask your coach but these are the maximum allowed times starting from first gymnast movement (not including the start beep). All our songs are cut to within these times. 0:45 - USAG Xcel Bronze-Silver 1:00 - USAG Xcel Gold 1:15 - USAG Xcel Platinum 1:20 - USAG Level 6 & 7 1:30 - USAG Xcel Diamond-Sapphire & Level 8-Elite Full Length - This is the uncut song that we will professionally cut for you for an additional fee, or you can use our iOS app to make a custom cut yourself! Get the app Why isn't my cut exactly that length? Each time is a maximum, not a target. We end every cut on a natural musical ending inside the limit rather than stopping mid-phrase, so a 1:20 cut may come in at 1:15 to 1:18. If your coach wants it closer to the maximum, contact us and we'll send options. Going the other way, every cut includes a 2-second intro beep, so the file runs about 2 seconds longer than the listed length (a 1:00 cut shows as 1:02). That's fine: timing starts at the gymnast's first movement, and the beep is before that. Need a different length, like 30 or 45 seconds for younger gymnasts? What do the Instant MP3, Custom Cut, and Needs License tags mean?

Every song in our catalog shows one of three tags.
Instant MP3
Already cut and already licensed. Download it the moment you buy, in standard USAG routine lengths.
Custom Cut$80
We cut the song for you. Here's how it works:
  1. We cut it. We pick the section of the song that works best for floor music: one continuous section with a clean start and a natural ending. Have a specific part in mind? Add timestamps or notes to your order.
  2. You approve it. We email you a sample cut (sometimes a couple of options). Hit Approve on the sample page, or reply and tell us what to change.
  3. We deliver it. Once you approve, we finalize the license and send your download.

Typical timing

  • Samples: usually within a few hours on weekdays, and always within 12 to 24 hours. On weekends and holidays, 24 to 48 hours.
  • After approval: we finalize the license and send your download. If the song is also tagged Needs License, see that tag below for timing.

Because we do every cut in house instead of sending it out, we're much faster than most places, which can take weeks. Working against a deadline? Just reach out and we'll rush it at no extra charge.

Once we've made a custom cut of a song, that cut becomes a pre-cut that anyone can buy at the standard price.

Needs License
The song is in our catalog, but we need to purchase an additional license for that specific song before we can send it. We batch these together, so in peak season it's quick and in the off season it can take a bit longer. Please allow at least a few days, and if you're up against a deadline just reach out and we'll rush it at no extra charge.

Full Length (self cut)

The uncut song for you to cut yourself. To remain legal under our licensing, self cuts must be cut using the FloorMusic.com app (iPhone and iPad). The app trims the song to a single continuous section, which is what the license allows. Cutting the file in other software is not covered.

I paid but never got an email

Your download is sent to the email you entered at checkout. Instant MP3 songs arrive within a few minutes. Custom cuts arrive after you approve the sample, and Needs License songs arrive once we've secured the license, which can take at least a few days (see the tags question above). If you don't see it, check your spam or junk folder first (AOL, Yahoo, and Gmail sometimes file us there, so please mark it Not Spam). Gmail users: also check the Promotions tab, and drag the email to Primary so future ones land there. Next, double-check the email address you entered at checkout for a typo. Your purchase confirmation page also has the download link. Still nothing? Contact us with the name and email you used and we'll resend it right away.

I don't see the song I want 🥺

Our full catalog of over 70,000 songs is available to browse and preview right on our site. You can search by song name, artist, or genre and listen to previews at any length before you buy. In the rare case where we don't have the song you're looking for, we can have it custom recorded for between $750 - $1,500 depending on length/complexity in about 3 - 6 weeks time. Even if that is too expensive, reach out to us because if enough people request the song we can split costs and even cover some of it ourselves. We do the recordings at cost so we don't make anything besides the standard $50 for the cut song so all money goes directly to the musicians/studio time.

Can you do remixes, mashups, or combine songs?

Not yet, and it's for a good reason. We are legally licensed, unlike most stores, and the license requires every cut to be one continuous section of one song. That means no mashups, no combining two songs, no speeding up or slowing down, and no skipping a slow section in the middle. We can custom cut any continuous section you like, or you can cut the full-length song yourself in the FloorMusic.com app. Splicing is something we are looking at for future seasons so stay tuned!

I bought the wrong length, wrong song, or am just unsatisfied

No problem at all, and you don't need to buy it again. Contact us with the email you used at checkout and we'll swap it for the song or length you need at no charge. If nothing works for you, we will fully refund your purchase.
